Exotic Wildlife Re-homing Service

About Us

For the past 15 years we have been re-homing & rescuing true 'Exotic/non-domestic' animals for the Police, Government departments, RSPCA and other NGO's. We are based near Heathrow in the UK, but cover Northern Ireland, UK mainland and Southern Ireland. As a non-profit, self funded voluntary organisation we work to ensure the welfare & assist in the re-homing of non-domesticated, non-native wild animals which have been abandoned, confiscated, surrendered to rescue centres or the authorities, or become surplus within Zoos, colleges or other educational institutions.

Education

As well as re-homing animals we also have a small number of residents who have joined us over the years. These animals regularly visit schools & open days that we attend free of charge to promote responsible animal care and to highlight the type of species that do not make suitable pets!

As the animals we re-home are essentially wild, with many of them endangered they are particularly suitable for use in animal handling & identification courses. The Corporation of London's Animal Reception Centre at Heathrow, holds regular training days for Police, Animal Health Officers and other official bodies. Over the years many of our guests have been used in these courses to further promote animal welfare, conservation and prevent wildlife crime.

In addition to re-homing live animals, we have over the last 15 years amassed a collection of parts and derivatives of natural history specimens. None of the specimens that we have, which are not antique, have been killed to produce these. The specimens have been donated to us by zoos and collections when captive animals have died of natural causes, donated by members of the public and schools for educational purposes, collected and prepared from road kill animals or been donated to us by various conservation groups or the UK authorities from seized or confiscated specimens. All of these specimens are available for free loan to any recognised educational facility on a short term basis.

We specialise in non-native, wild animals. Many of the Zoos & colleges which help us by offering homes have limited resources. We therefore are not normally able to offer places to species that commonly occur in the pet trade. We try to match the limited spaces available to the specimens that are endangered or require specialist facilities.
