About Us

Welcome to the website of Specialist Wildlife Re-homing Services.

For the last 15 years we have been re-homing & rescuing true 'Exotic' animals for the Police, Government departments, RSPCA and other NGO's.

We are based near Heathrow, but cover Northern Ireland, the UK mainland and Southern Ireland.

As a non-profit, self funded voluntary organisation we work to ensure the welfare & assist in the re-homing of non-domesticated non-native wild animals which have been abandoned, confiscated, surrendered to rescue centres or the authorities, or become surplus within Zoos, colleges or other educational institutions.

Our main aim is to ensure that the animals in our care receive the best homes, with the highest standard of care that we can find.

We can even accept specimens via donation, where the current owner may not have the correct license. Our only concern is the welfare of the animal.

To date we have never been forced to euthanase any healthy animals that we have accepted for re-homing, we aim to maintain that record!

We do specialise in re-homing the more unusual species that would normally not be seen in other rescue centres and have a list of Exotic Animal Sanctuaries & refuges, Education facilities & Zoos who we can call on to assist us. For this reason we don't re-home to the general public as our guests require specialist care and are not suitable as pets.

We never re-home to laboratories, dealers or the pet trade.

We operate on a simple basis;

Once we receive details of the animals that require re-homing or rescuing we arrange for the current keepers to confirm this in writing to us. The animals must be legally signed over to us so that we have legal responsibility and ownership of them.

We then begin to contact potential homes off our list, often we already have an idea of who will be able to help us,as we also maintain a wanted list for collections.

All of the animals we ever re-home are loaned to the new keepers, we always retain legal ownership. This way we can ensure that the animals Never enter trade or are 'lost' in the system. If any of our animals ever need to move again they always come back to us!
