The Swan Sanctuary

Welcome to the home page of the Swan Sanctuary's web site. The Swan Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to the care and treatment of swans and waterfowl with an established reputation, not only within the British Isles but worldwide. The Swan Sanctuary is proud to have facilities that include a fully equipped operating theatre, an X-ray room, an intensive care ward, an isolation ward, a washing room for oiled swans, several nursing ponds and a 4-acre rehabilitation lake. In the year 2000, we were instrumental in treating close on 4,000 mute swans, both at the sanctuary and in the field across the whole of England, Wales, Scotland and both Northern and Southern Ireland.

In addition to the main sanctuary site in Shepperton, Middlesex the sanctuary has several associate rescue centres around England and in Southern Ireland. Details of how to contact these centres may be found on our "How to Contact us" page.

For anyone seriously thinking of owning an Owl we do an Owl Care Course.

We can provide trained owls for film work, photography and also for artists.

Chrissie's Owls provide a rescue service for injured wild owls and also captive-bred owls that for one reason or another need caring for and re-homing.

Animal Zone UK

As part of my company, I offer a rescue service for various Exotic pets, mostly reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and exotic birds.

Most of the animals we receive stay with us for the duration and are often used in presentations to help illustrate the pros and cons of keeping exotic animals.

Animal zone UK also runs an adoption service where suitable animals are fostered to appropriate vetted homes, these animals remain under animal zone UK's supervision.

This side of the company is completely non-profit making.

Animalzone UK also offers free impartial advice.

It is my policy not to judge or question the circumstances with regards to a rescue rather the animal in questions immediate welfare which is of paramount importance to me.
